Whilst cleaning the engine, ready for painting, I got a little concerned about the amount of rust on the flywheel. After removing it, I noticed some pretty extensive heat cracks, but thought they could be removed by having it resurfaced.
So, I took it to Seattle Brake and Clutch, who had previously been very helpful getting new brake shoes and surfacing the drums. Unfortunately, once I got it back it was clear that a replacement was in order, one crack still being wider enough to fit my nail into it.
So, it was replaced with Cummins 4080744 Flywheel, which, for reference has 159 teeth, measuring 392mm, or 408mm including the teeth.
