Defender New Wing Side Repeater Indicator Light PRC7044

I spent months looking for suitable LED lights that I could use. The space is 3″ x 1″ which turns out to be quite a unique shape. After ordering and returning multiple options from Amazon I was unable to find anything suitable.

I saw mention of Land Rover Defender lights fitting so I thought I’d give them a try. They go by various names, but I ordered a set of “Defender New Wing Side Repeater Indicator Light Lamp Set x2 PRC7044” from Amazon. When they arrived, it was clearly they were a perfect match for the wings. I have also seen them called “Defender 90 Indicator Repeater Side Lamp Early Type” or “Defender Side Marker Lights”.

I like to have spares of various parts but unfortunately the supplier on Amazon has no more stock, so I picked up a second set from JGS4x4 in the UK.

Of course, in a modern build you want to use LEDs, they are brighter, last longer and use less electricity. So next came the task of finding a suitable bulb. The fitting was pretty easy to figure out (it’s a T5 or T10 wedge shape), however a 24v bulb, that isn’t a spotlight and is short enough to fit wasn’t the easiest thing to buy. Once again, I placed plenty of Amazon orders and returned all but one set, which work perfectly.

Finally, you also need to be able to install the lights. I’m sure there’s various creative ways of doing this but seeing as I was ordering some items from the UK, I decided to order the clips that are the intended way to install them “Land Rover Scissor Type Bonnet Prop Clip ADU 3430“.
